How was your first week on the program?
Surprisingly not difficult to adapt to the changes
What has been your biggest accomplishment or life-change with IWM?
Just feeling better; I have more energy and can move around easier.
What has been your biggest struggle or fear and how did you get through that (big events, vacations, or anything else)?
I'm a very social person. I am always hanging out with friends, hosting or going to parties/events and now in the middle of all the holidays. My family and friends have been very supportive and help me make the right choices and don't put me into positions to where I feel bad because I didn't try Aunt Betty's cake. I have also gone through a very life changing event recently...divorce, and it would have been very easy to give up and just eat my weight in chocolate, but I didn't. I would always make sure I had either eaten before going somewhere or take it with me.
Please share any tips or advice you may have for other clients?
Reach out to your coach, that's what they are there for. I can't tell you how many times I have called, emailed or text April with some silly question and she was and still is always there for me. Always make sure you have an IP food product with you, you never know when you will need it to stop the craving (especially in the beginning).
What do you look forward to as a life-change in maintenance?
Being a healthier me. I started this program to start a family. I wanted to be the healthiest I could be for me and my future baby. I have heard and seen too many horror stories of overweight ladies and their struggles during pregnancy. I can already keep up with my 5 year old nephew, and it surprises him that I can catch him now.
What role did your health coach play in your success?
HUGE! April is amazing, simply put. She makes me feel so comfortable and not embarrassed or ashamed at how unhealthy I was before. She gives constant encouragement and is always there for me.
Day one I weighed 260 lbs, day 105 I weighed 214 (lost 46 pounds). I haven't done pictures in several weeks but I have already lost an additional 8 pounds.
